Welcome

From the book:

Artistically decorated pies are a very hot trend and these 25 edible works of art are the gold standard against which all others must be measured.

Everyone knows that serving a pie for dessert makes guests happy. And serving one with a beautifully designed crust that makes guests swoon is even better. Pies are easy to make as stunningly attractive as the most decorative cakes using some basic techniques and the appropriate care when working with pie dough. The recipes and techniques presented in this book give any home baker the tools they need to create breathtaking works of pie art. From preparation of the dough to the last moments of baking, all methods are clearly presented using step-by-step photographs. The only equipment required is a flat surface, rolling pin, sharp knife, oven, and refrigerator/freezer. Using additional tools, such as different size and shaped cookie cutters, makes embellishing an ordinary pie crust easy. The 25 pie crust designs offer a range of difficulty, as well as themes covering art styles and seasonal-inspired florals.
Beautifully decorated pies are a hit on social networking, and until now there has not been a book on how to create these stunning works of edible art. Karin Pfeiff-Boschek is a master pie designer and explains in detail her textile-based methods used to reproduce her most popular top crust works of art.

  1. Hi Karin, I am really enjoying your book. I just wondered if you could share where you find your cookie cutter shapes. I am in the USA and having a little bit of trouble finding the same sizes listed in your book. We also had some trouble finding the cake lifter here, but I managed to purchase directly from Staedter.

    • I apologize for this being so late. I have had trouble accessing my account because of IP attacks that locked me out. I buy most of my cutters on Amazon. Availability varies quite a lot. Also, if you search on Google for cookie cutters you will find any number of companies that offer them. Checking with them may turn up some that are not available on Amazon. Thanks for your interest and good luck and good baking!:-)
